We are seeking an experienced Backend Consultant to guide the design, architecture, and development of scalable backend systems for our fintech platform. This is a high-impact, project-based role ideal for experts who thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
Advise and support teams in designing and developing scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant backend services.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams during system design, architecture discussions, and code reviews.
Translate complex business requirements into robust, extensible software solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, DevOps, QA, UX, Mobile, etc.) to ensure successful project delivery.
Identify architectural risks, technical debt, and improvement opportunities, and recommend solutions.
Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization for high-load systems.
Advocate for and implement best practices in coding standards, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
Stay current on backend technologies and recommend appropriate adoption strategies.
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).
5+ years of experience building backend services for large-scale, distributed systems.
Strong hands-on experience with at least one of: Golang, Python, Java, C++, or Ruby.
Deep understanding of system design, data structures, algorithms, and asynchronous architecture.
Expertise in designing RESTful APIs and working with relational and NoSQL databases.
Demonstrated ability to mentor developers, scope technical work, and ensure quality delivery.
Proven track record in handling backend systems with high performance and scalability demands.
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Experience working in consultancy, contractor, or advisory roles is a plus.
Familiarity with the Golang ecosystem and experience with large-scale production deployments.
Understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Exposure to fintech, cross-border payments, or regulated environments.
